Baby Product Recall Tiny Love Baby Wind ChimesTiny Love, man­u­fac­turer of soft devel­op­men­tal toys for babies have issued a safety notice for the Baby Wind Chimes. The recall affects all baby wind chimes man­u­fac­tured from 2002 onwards.

The Baby wind chimes are being recalled due to a few cases where the wind chime’s body has become open, expos­ing sharp metal rods.

Sainsbury’s has issued a recall notice on the Dis­ney Tig­ger Chime Wig­gler toy. The man­u­fac­turer of the toy, Vivid Imag­i­na­tions, has found a dye used in the pro­duc­tion of the toy does not meet the require­ments of the Euro­pean Toy Safety stan­dard.

Boots Bob The Builder RecallBorn to Play, a  man­u­fac­turer of Bob the Builder toys in the UK, has issued a vol­un­tary prod­uct recall for the fol­low­ing Gift Sets found in Boots and Tesco UK Stores:

  • Bob the Builder Scoop, Lofty & Muck Gift Sets sold at Tesco from July 2009
  • Bob the Builder: 4 Vechi­cle Gift Set sold at Boots from July 2009

The toys were recalled after two cus­tomers reported that a piece of a glu­ing tool used in man­u­fac­tur­ing were found included inside the prod­uct packaging.

Go Go Hamster Safety Alert Over Antimony LevelsThe Go Go Ham­ster toy is owned by US com­pany Cepia and man­u­fac­tured in China. The ham­ster has not been offi­cially recalled by the US Con­sumer Prod­uct Safety Com­mis­sion (CPSC) or the UK Trad­ing Stan­dards Insti­tute. Some 700,000 Go Go Ham­ster have been sold in the UK. Accord­ing to UK dis­trib­u­tor, Char­ac­ter Options, the ham­ster toys are likely to sell out before Christmas.

Mattel and Fisher Price Settle Over Lead in Toys

US Con­sumer Set­tle­ment for Lead in Children’s ToysDora-Explorer-Lead-Recall

Mat­tel and its Fisher-Price sub­sidiary have reached a set­tle­ment over lead and loose mag­nets in toys with Amer­i­can fam­i­lies that could total more than $50 mil­lion. The case started when mil­lions of toys were with­drawn from the world­wide mar­ket in 2006 and 2007 when they were found to exceed legal lim­its of lead in the paint or plas­tic of the toy.

The affected toys include cer­tain Sesame Street toys, Dora the Explorer and Diego toys made by Fisher-Price, certain Mat­tel toys, such as Bat­man, Polly Pocket, Bar­bie acces­sories, and Sarge cars.
