@ 21st Century Mummy. Your story is so sad. Your husband sounds like a very selfish man. My answer to anyone who has a husband/partner who doesn't care, to ask someone else to be birth partner. I'm sure your hypnobirthing teacher could recommend a doula, or maybe your mother, sister or best friend could be birth partner. Leave the selfish husband at home with Sky Sports and get your chosen birthing partner to text him when the baby's born! I've just finished my hypnobirthing course and my husband is so supportive he's actually having dreams of me in a birthing pool having a successful hypnobirth! He's reading the scripts out loud while I listen to relaxing music, he's practising the massage, he's even helping me to write the perfect birth plan! He's absolutely brilliant.Instead of trying to block out the thoughts of birth, I'm now looking forward to it and am gaining in confidence every day that I'll do this with as little pain relief as possible.
