A delicious treat ,these cinnamon baked apples can be enjoyed by everyone at over the holidays and the good news is they take just five minutes to prepare!

Cinnamon baked apples

  • Serves 6 (v)
  • Preparation time – 5 minutes
  • Cooking time – 1 hour


  • 6 eating apples (unpeeled)
  • 75g (3oz) dried apricots, finely chopped
  • 75g (3oz) shelled pecan nuts, finely chopped
  • 1½ tbsp soft light or dark
  • brown sugar, plus extra for sprinkling
  • 1½ tbsp ground Cinnamon


  1. Preheat the oven to 160°C (325°F), Gas mark 3.
  2. First prepare the apples. Slice the top 1cm (½in) off each apple and retain, then core each fruit with an apple corer and place in one of the holes of a 6-hole muffin tin.
  3. Mix together the remaining ingredients and use this mixture to fill the apples, adding extra to cover the top of each fruit. Replace the cut-off tops of the apples, then bake in the oven for about 1 hour or until the apples are soft all the way through.
  4. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream and a sprinkling of brown sugar.
