Join the baby buggy race!

Fitness expert Wendy MacLeod gives us the rundown (pun intended) on the Buggyfit baby race event she’s hosting in Bellahouston Park on September 15th for Tommy’s.

Find out how you, Dad and all babies in buggies can get involved in the 2012 Buggy Race for Tommy’s Charity.

What are the baby races?

In recent years Buggyfit and baby charity Tommy’s have joined forces to host a series of ‘Baby Races’ throughout the UK. This year I have the pleasure of hosting their first ever Scottish Baby Race, at Glasgow’s Bellahouston Park.

Tommy’s charity raises funds for the research into pregnancy related problems, miscarriage and stillbirth and provides information and support to parents.

The Glasgow course is 5 kilometers long, and the race begins with an aerobic warm-up with our Buggy Fit instructors. You can run, jog or walk, with or without a buggy, and any family member can join in.

The races take place in child-friendly locations with plenty of family entertainment. It’s a great way to meet like-minded mums, make friends and keep fit! And of course there is plenty to keep the little ones entertained too!

The issues stated above sadly affect hundreds of women and families throughout the UK every day. You can do something about it, so come join us at Bellahouston Park and be proud to be part of something that has never been done in Glasgow before!

I want to join in! What do I do?

There are 2 upcoming Buggyfit races, one in Glasgow and one in Cardiff.

Glasgow: Saturday, 15th of September at Bellahouston Park, 10.00am.

Cardiff: Sunday, 23rd of September at Cardiff Bay, 9.30am.

You can sign up to either one here.

How much will it cost me?

The race costs £14.50 to enter, which gets you entry into the race, a t-shirt, training plan, and a goody bag upon completion.

If you wish, you can raise more money for Tommy’s by setting up a ‘just giving’ charity page.

Hope to see on the course soon!
