Maclaren buggy recall in UK

In the US, there were 15 reports of children placing their finger in the stroller’s hinge mechanism, resulting in 12 reports of fingertip amputations.

Mindful Mum does not understand why the Maclaren buggy is being recalled in the United States but not in the UK. Although the Maclaren Buggies are made in China, Maclaren is a British company with a loyal customer base both here in the UK and in Europe.

Download the Maclaren Email Template or Maclaren Letter Template requesting Maclaren provide the repair kit to UK parents.

Mindful Mum calls on Maclaren to follow other European manufacturers such as Bugaboo who announced a ‘safety alert’ on the Bugaboo Bee brakes which allowed parents to claim a free brake bracket online in the UK and Europe.

The US recall involves all Maclaren single and double umbrella strollers. The affected models include:

  • Volo
  • Triumph
  • Quest Sport
  • Quest Mod
  • Techno XT
  • TechnoXLR
  • Twin Triumph
  • Twin Techno
  • Easy Traveller.

Maclaren has advised US consumers to immediately stop using these recalled strollers and contact Maclaren USA to receive a free repair kit.
