Educational gifts for toddlers
Educational toys for 1-2 year olds can also be a lot of fun.

Here are our top five ideas for educational gifts for 1-2 year olds.
Interactive books
Story books which have buttons to push to correspond with pictures are a great way to encourage toddlers to enjoy reading. Often cartoon books will have a strip of noise buttons down the side which the little ones must push when they see the corresponding image. This is lots of fun for them to find and great for encouraging them to match.
Computers for toddlers
Specially made computers for toddlers encourage the development of all their skills and are a lot of fun as well! There are games and programmes available for anything from fun word games to number fun and learning a foreign language.
Sing a long CD’s
Singing along to nursery rhymes and songs may seem like something you would do anyway, but a lot of the songs on these CD’s (for example 1,2,3,4,5, once I caught a fish alive) encourage little ones to learn rhyming poems and how to count without even realising they are doing it.
Flash cards
Whether you decide on flash cards with colourful pictures of animals, Disney Princesses or numbers, flash cards are a fun way of teaching little ones to recognise and remember what things are. You can even use them to play snap once they are well versed in how the cards work to encourage them to play fairly!
Musical instruments
Your head might not believe so, but musical instruments are a great educational tool! Percussion instruments especially encourage toddlers to learn rhythm and there are so many specially adapted musical instruments for toddlers – keyboards, and saxophones for example which help them to recognise sounds by their coloured keys.
