Speaking last week, the star confirmed that her children Dylan, 11, and Carys, 9, enjoy their time at Butlin’s as much as she does.

In an interview with The Sun she said, “They love going to Butlin’s with my parents for long weekends. Especially with the whole ‘Hollywood royalty’ name tag and the lifestyle I lead. And it’s a very nice lifestyle, thanks. You know, I’ve worked very hard for it and I appreciate it, but I’m just regular old Cath. “I’m certainly not a snob and I don’t take anything for granted.”

Why Butlins is the best

Catherine’s tryst with stardom started with one particular Butlins holiday resort in her native Wales. As a teenager she won a talent contest while holidaying at the resort. In her interview with Stylist magazine, she revealed how her children were surprised to see rain on the beach in Swansea as they were brought up in Bermuda. She added, “They’ve been on the beach when it’s been horizontal rain in Swansea, you know? They can’t believe it; they’re on the beach and it’s raining.”

The Hollywood actor, who currently lives in New York, revealed her disappointment with her kids not having a British accent and also not liking many of her favourite UK foods. She told the magazine, “When they lived in Bermuda, they had more of a British accent than I did. They’d talk so properly; they were so posh. But then in two months of coming back to school in the US, in New York, they sounded as if they came from the Bronx. I’m like, ‘What happened to mummy?’ It’s now ‘Mom!’

She further said,”They don’t like Branston Pickle to my horror. They don’t like Yorkshire puddings – to my horror. They love a good shepherd’s pie because they’ve been brought up with it, because it’s pretty much all I can make fantastically well.”
